At the beginning of the year the City Of Osceola came to us asking us to replace the snowflakes around the town.  There are 47 snowflakes to replace!  Upon doing the math and looking at prices we learned it is cheaper to refurbish them including, repainting and stringing new lights!  St. Clair County 4-H offered to partner with us to help make this goal a reality!  They applied for and awarded a grant for $1,000 for this project!

The Chamber partnered with St. Clair County 4-H, the City of Osceola, St. Clair County Economic Development, as well as a few locals that came out in late June to help us take apart 20 snowflakes so they can go to Appleton City to get freshened up!  We plan on refurbishing 20 flakes this year and the rest next year!

The project is estimated to cost about $5,000.00 to refurbish each of the 47 snowflakes.  The project is now fully funded!  Donations can still be made to the St. Clair County 4-H located in the St. Clair County Courthouse.  Any donations received will now be used to purchase additional Christmas decorations such as lighted garland for the poles on the square.

Way-Finding Signs are designed to help visitors find their way to areas throughout city.  The Osceola Chamber together with the St. Clair County Economic Development, and the City of Osceola have developed this project!  Our first two signs are placed along Lakeshore heading to town!  We are working to get more up as we design, get funding and install them!

We are able to do this thanks to the 2021 Community Change Grant from America Walks and Active People, Healthy Nations Partners.  We applied and were granted a $1500 grant with a 100% match from the Osceola Chamber! 

The City of Osceola in partnership with St. Clair County Economic Development, Osceola Community Chamber of Commerce will design, purchase and place way-finding signs along routes listed in Osceola’s Livable Streets Plan.  Receiving the 2021 Community Change Grant will allow the City of Osceola and partners to give pedestrians better access to everyday destinations such as healthcare clinics, public library, shopping, government agencies, and parks and recreation using the safest route possible.  This grant allows us to continue to reach goals set in during past projects making Osceola truly a place where we can grow up and grow old.
